Music Ministry

Our congregation has a tradition of strong music, and believes that this enhances our worship experience.  Typically, we feature a variety of music in our service, but our Sunday morning worship service is a traditional format and features organ music, piano music, our church choir and various solos and instruments as we lift our voices in praise.

We involve all those who are willing and have a passion for music.  It is not uncommon for us to use instruments such as clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and even steel pan along with our hymn singing.  We believe in the words from Psalm 150 –  “Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,…  Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.”

There are several opportunities for involvement in music and we’d love to have you take part:

  1. Choir – Our choir sings and rehearses (on average) twice a month from September through May.  This small group in our church lifts their voices in praise and worship, and is a great place to get involved if you have a love for music.  Contact the office for more information if you are interested.
  2. Special music – We look for members and others that are willing to play or sing during our offertory or other times during our worship service.  However, we also have other opportunities where we like to have special music featured at special events and concerts held at other times in our church.  See our Director of Music or call the office for more information.
