Pictured are all of the supplies collected by the congregation which were contributed to the local elementary schools for the 2025-2026 school year.
The Mission Board also sponsors several yearly projects such as the Lenten Food Collection for our Spearfish Food Pantry, the school Supply Collection in July & August to benefit our Spearfish Elementary Schools, and our Elder Tree during Advent when we buy gifts for residents of a Spearfish Senior Care Facility. We are an active board with projects of some type taking place almost every month. We strive to involve our congregation in all of our projects.

According to Our Church by Laws, our official title is The Board of Missions and Outreach. Our goal is to organize and coordinate mission outreaches of the church and identify and encourage study of potential areas of missionary concern and involve members of the congregation in these outreach areas. These should include local, state, national and international outreaches.

Pictured is the delivery of food to the Black Hills State Student Food Pantry that was collected during the Missions Lenten Food Collection. Lenten Donations were also made to the Spearfish Food Pantry totaling 140 pounds.
The Mission Board strives to achieve these goals by sponsoring many projects. Some are ongoing. The sponsorship of our Mission Child from the Philippines is an example, as well as providing food on a monthly basis to the Good Shepherd Clinic. We also oversee our church’s Scholarship Fund, making sure that we have an ample amount to fund as many scholarship requests as possible.
